Mrs. Garner's calling to education came two years into her college career where she began as an International Finance major. After enrolling in a required fine arts elective, she came to realize that teaching and music were her true callings in life. After a life of passionate school music teachers, piano teachers, and band and choir directors, she felt compeled to share, with others, the joy and confidence given to her through music.
After graduating with her bachelor's degree with highest honors in Music Education with an emphasis in both Piano and Voice from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, she began her career in education teaching piano and choir with a TEXES certification in Choral Music Education K-12. After just her second year of teaching, she chose to take the time to continue to grow her family and develop her music studio offering piano, voice, and flute lessons and Kindermusik classes to 100+ children and their families.
Upon her return to her hometown area in 2000, Mrs. Garner stepped back into public music education in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City Independent School District where she has systematically grown over her 18 years teaching in the district at all levels, elementary through high school.
With the completion of her Masters in Education with an emphasis in Educational Administration in April of 2016, her future professional plans include extending her reach and influence to the many additional lives that can be touched through a Campus Administrator position.
A teacher effects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.
